Mel’s Meals uses this information only as reasonably necessary to evaluate or administer the customer’s request, provide customer service, address food-safety concerns, maintain records, or comply with applicable legal obligations.

Mel’s Meals is not an allergen-free facility, and providing allergy information does not create a guarantee that a product will be free from allergens or allergen cross-contact.

Customers should not submit medical records, diagnoses, prescriptions, or other unnecessary health information through ordinary Website forms, SMS messages, email, or order notes.

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Mel’s Meals may use cookies and similar technologies to:

These providers may receive only the information reasonably necessary for the functions they perform.

10. Delivery Providers

Mel’s Meals may use its own personnel or independent third-party delivery providers, including services such as Uber, DoorDash, or other available delivery services.

Information necessary to fulfill a delivery may be provided to a delivery provider, including:

-recipient name;

-delivery address;

-telephone number;

-delivery instructions;

-order-related information; and

-other information reasonably necessary to complete delivery.

Third-party delivery providers may have their own privacy practices governing information they independently collect or process.

11. Mobile Information and SMS Consent

Mel’s Meals does not sell, rent, share, or provide customers’ mobile telephone numbers, SMS opt-in information, or text-messaging consent to third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.

Mobile opt-in data and messaging consent are not transferred, sold, or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Mobile information may be disclosed to service providers that assist Mel’s Meals in providing messaging, telecommunications, customer-service, security, or operational services, but only as reasonably necessary for those services.

Such service-provider disclosure does not authorize those providers to use customers’ mobile information or messaging consent for their own independent marketing purposes.

This mobile-data restriction applies notwithstanding any other provision of this Privacy Policy concerning disclosure of personal information.

Customers may reply STOP to applicable messages to opt out and HELP for assistance.

Mel’s Meals may send a limited confirmation message acknowledging an opt-out request where permitted.

Opting out of promotional messaging does not itself cancel an existing order or meal plan.

-payment notices;

-delivery or pickup information;

-subscription notices;

-account communications;

-food-safety notices; and

Mel’s Meals may use customer information to send marketing or promotional communications when permitted by law and consistent with the customer's consent or communication preferences.

Marketing consent will be handled separately from communications necessary to fulfill an order or administer an active customer relationship where appropriate.

Customers may withdraw marketing consent or opt out using the method provided in the applicable communication.

Withdrawal of marketing consent does not affect processing that occurred before the withdrawal.

15. Sale of Personal Information

Mel’s Meals does not sell customers’ mobile telephone numbers, SMS opt-in information, or text-messaging consent.

If Mel’s Meals engages in any activity that constitutes a “sale” of other personal data under an applicable privacy law, Mel’s Meals will provide disclosures and choices required by that law.

Mel’s Meals will not characterize ordinary disclosures to service providers acting on our behalf as sales when applicable law treats those relationships as service-provider or processor relationships.

16. Targeted Advertising

Mel’s Meals may use online advertising or analytics technologies from time to time.

Depending on the technologies used, certain disclosures of browser, device, cookie, or Website-use information could be considered targeted advertising, sharing, or sale under some privacy laws.

Where applicable law gives customers the right to opt out of such processing, Mel’s Meals will provide an appropriate method for exercising that right.

Mobile telephone numbers and SMS opt-in consent will not be disclosed for third-party or affiliate marketing or promotional purposes.

17. Customer Reviews, Photos, and Submitted Content

If customers voluntarily submit reviews, photographs, comments, testimonials, suggestions, or other content, Mel’s Meals may retain and process that information for customer service, quality improvement, business operations, or other purposes described at the time of submission.

Mel’s Meals will not treat submission of a customer photograph or ordinary review as unlimited consent to use that person's name, image, or likeness in paid advertising where separate authorization is required.

18. Loyalty Programs and Promotions

Mel’s Meals may collect and use information necessary to administer loyalty credits, discounts, referral programs, contests, or promotions.

Such information may include:

Any successor handling personal information will remain subject to applicable privacy obligations.

SMS opt-in consent and mobile information will not be transferred to another business for that business's independent marketing or promotional purposes merely as a result of a business relationship or affiliation.

22. Data Retention

Mel’s Meals retains personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to accomplish the purposes for which it was collected and to satisfy legitimate business, accounting, tax, regulatory, food-safety, contractual, dispute-resolution, insurance, and legal requirements.

Retention periods may differ depending on the type of information.

For example, certain transaction, payment, food-production, complaint, or safety records may need to be retained longer than ordinary Website analytics information.

When information is no longer reasonably necessary, Mel’s Meals may delete, anonymize, or securely dispose of it according to its retention practices and applicable law.

23. Data Security

Mel’s Meals uses reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

These safeguards may include access controls, passwords, service-provider security measures, account controls, secure payment processing, staff procedures, and other reasonable protections.

However, no Website, computer system, transmission method, or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Customers should protect their account credentials and promptly notify Mel’s Meals of suspected unauthorized account activity.

24. Children’s Privacy

Mel’s Meals services and Website are intended for adults purchasing food and related services and are not directed toward children under thirteen (13).

Mel’s Meals does not knowingly seek to collect personal information directly from children under thirteen through the Website.

If Mel’s Meals learns that personal information has been collected directly from a child under thirteen without appropriate authorization, Mel’s Meals will take reasonable steps to delete or appropriately address the information.

Parents or guardians may purchase products for minors.

-opt out of targeted advertising;

-opt out of certain profiling activities producing legal or similarly significant effects; and

-appeal the denial of certain privacy requests.

Texas law requires covered businesses to provide an accessible privacy notice describing categories of personal data processed, processing purposes, categories shared with third parties, and how consumers may exercise applicable privacy rights.

26. Exercising Privacy Rights

Please state that your request concerns privacy rights and provide enough information for Mel’s Meals to identify the relevant account or records.

Mel’s Meals will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

If a request is denied and applicable law provides an appeal right, the response will explain how to submit an appeal.

27. Authorized Agents

Where applicable law permits a customer to use an authorized agent to submit a privacy request, Mel’s Meals may request evidence that the agent has authority to act on the customer’s behalf and may separately verify the customer's identity where permitted.

-replying STOP to applicable SMS messages;

-adjusting browser cookie settings;

Mel’s Meals does not control the independent privacy practices of third parties.

Customers should review the privacy policies of third-party services they choose to use.

What our customers say about us!

I’ve really enjoyed Mel’s Meals. The food is healthy, but it doesn’t taste like “health food.” Everything has good flavor, the portions are satisfying, and the drinks are really good too. You can tell Mel puts a lot of thought into what she serves. Her motto is “We Only Do Delicious,” and I’d say that’s pretty accurate.

Mel’s Meals has become one of my favorite options when I want something that tastes good but is still good for me. The meals are flavorful and filling without being heavy, and I’ve enjoyed the drinks too. It’s nice to have healthy food that you actually look forward to eating.

I was honestly surprised by how much flavor Mel packs into healthy meals. Nothing I’ve had has been bland or boring, and everything tastes fresh. I also like that I can grab a meal or drink and feel good about what I’m having.
